News to me... My V248 charges batteries when on shore power with battery switch set to OFF .I always make sure it's like that before I leave the boat, and can see the charger lights showing they are working when shore power is on... Pretty sure that's how it works for my boat (2000 v248) |

My 1998 vista 258 has a circuit breaker for the battery charger on the circuit board in the cabin. This will need to be on . The setting of the perks switch has nothing to do with the onboard charger . If you have one good battery and one bad battery and set the perko switch to both it can shorten the life of the good battery (so I've read ). |
