How do you trouble shoot Lowrance built in depth sounder problems? Sometimes mine doesn't display at all, other times it's just segments of numbers on the LCD display. 1996 Horizon. Thanks

I have the same problem - sometimes it works great, and other times it's not giving a meaningful readout. I was told by the service technicians at the marina it may have something to do with the little window thru which the signal is transmitted. Anyone else?

Issue solved

I also was told to try wiping the window at the bottom of the hull. I used a little brake cleaner on a rag. It seems to have solved the problem- try it.. Boat was in water full time last year so it makes sense that the hull fitting isn't clean enough.

I have tried the cleaning the hull section, but still not good.

After turning on the boat the depth reads 1.6 no matter what.

Is there anything else I might be able to check before taking the boat in?

Thanks

Other than making certain that the transducer is clean, there's not much else to do.
