| Post subject: | Repairing Faria gauges? |
Anyone had any experience sending gauges back to Faria for repair/replacement? My speedometer is non-functional and I've already replaced the pitot. Looks like some salt water may have made it's way into the gauge. I'm out of warranty, but see that Faria has a program to send back gauges for a "nominal fee". Is it worth it, or should I just buy a new gauge? |

I'll be interested to find what people think about this; my tachometer pegging at various rpm has gotten a lot worse and tapping it no longer seems to free it up like it used to. Graham |

Well, I just filled out the paperwork on the faria site and there is a USD$15 charge to replace the gauge. I'll give it a whirl and let you know. Erik |

There is a 5-7 week lead time for Faria gauges in the Summer. If you have water in the gauge then I say spend the $15 and get it fixed. If it is a gauge that moves when tapped, check for loose nuts at the circuit board. That usually saves a trip to the repair facility. If not, it is cheaper to send iit off for repairs and you usually receive a new gauge back. Larry |

Yeah, this one was completely non-functional and I could see crystalization inside. I received an email from Faria that they received it last Monday and nothing since - Sounds like I'm in for a wait. No big deal since it didn't work anyway. |

I got the gauge back in the mail yesterday - Brand new gauge! |

Had my temp gauge calibrated recentley, $15 an about 2 1/2 week turnaround time. Very easy people to deal with. Unit was 5 years old. I'm happy. 9BALL |
