Last year, following severe electrical problems, I posted this in case anyone had similar issues:
Quote:
There are two ground studs, the first one on the block, the second on the starter; Unless you know it's there, it's difficult to see the second until the first is stripped back. These use a mix of stainless and mild steel nuts and washers, A/F this time, not metric. The engine stud has the 2 battery leads, plus a lead that goes to the alternator ( I think!). Also the ACP and Neutrasalt ground wires. The other stud takes the ground wires from the FW engine compartment harness.
This weekend whilst changing the bilge blower I found out there are actually
3 ground studs, not 2 ! There are the 2 on the starboard side, plus there is another one on the port side. As standard, it has 2 cables going to the engine electronics. Then another attached which goes to the transom shield and one to the trim tab motor. Again, using a mix of mild steel and stainless nuts and I found some corrosion evident ( no protective grease at all).
Maybe of use to someone chasing down ground issues.
