Stupid question probably, I have a NAV light switch and an ANC lights switch, is the ANC light just supposed to be the stern pole light? Does this stand for anchor light? Is this the light supposed to be on if on anchor at night, without the NAV lights?

If you are STOPPED and at anchor, the only light that should be on is your anchor light (white stern light). Do not turn on your red/green nav lights while at anchor.

And its not s stupid question...its much better to be educated, particularly about safety than to find out the hard way.

Yes! Steve is right. I'd rather feel silly asking strangers on the interwebs instead of being told by the water cops in person.
