I too have all my stereo and house stuff hooked to one battery (deep cycle/starting) and one battery for a backup for starting, if I kill the first on with the stereo, can can switch to the other, I know it will start cause I charge both before a day on the lake with the charger at the house, I also invested a little more on the new microprocesser charger, it tells the state of the battery so you can tell when the are about to take a dump. Besides if I kill the stereo battery it's generally time to go anyway.

Later,

Mike

Sounds like you bring along an extra battery, and swap it out as needed. Is the spare mounted in a battery tray or box?

I have two both are mounted in trays, boxes are a pain in the you know what. No I just charge them before going out where they sit in the boat, I just leave the engine hatch open in case of fumes.
