Every time I turn the ignition to start the engine there is a loud alarm similar to that of a car but 100 times louder. Is there a way I can muffle that a bit. It's really giving me an ear ache. If so where can I find the mini horn for that. Thanks in advance. |

What I did, and you may do at your own risk, was to place a piece of duct tape over the hole on the 'buzzer'. The buzzer itself is located under the helm, and looks like a roughly 1.5" in diameter disk with a hole in the center. I was going to post a pic, but then realized it'd be easier for you to find it by sticking your head under then helm while turning the ignition key. ![]() |

you can just unplug it, but you'll miss it when it's gone. |

the problem with disconnecting it is it may also be used to let you know when you are having an engine issue. I know on my old boat it was connected to the temp and oil gauges and would sound if they got too high. |

Also, I know its annoyingly loud, but its a sound that most boaters recognize. I know when I am tied up with people and hear that sound, its a warning that an engine is about to start. As a result, many boaters look around to make sure nobody is in the water near the boat about to start....could be a life saver and you may not even realize it. |

Me, my slightly deaf self, and I still hear it plenty loud after putting duct tape over the hole, even with the stereo on. It's just much more tolerable at start-up. |

Well I went ahead and muffled it a bit and I like much more than I did a day ago. If I could only just reposition the depth gauge to a more visible location might be all set. |

With that said I still wouldn't mind it muffled a bit or programed with a loud sexy female voice that says "caution the engine is about to start" or whenever the alarm sounds for engine trouble a loud male voice starts cussing and screaming saying "you idiot- you are about to screw up your engine" |

I second the sexy female voice, as far as the cussing mans voice, I already have that...I boat with my father in law |
