Has anyone wired their stereo to be permanently on thus bypassing the need for the ignition switch to be on? It's a pain when you are listening to tunes and then you shut the engine off the radio dies. |

Of course. Just wire direct to the battery. And if you have a battery switch, shut the battery(s) off when you leave the boat. Always wired my aftermarket car stereo's that way, and both of our previous boats were set up that way from the factory. |

so next question.....brief description on how? Is it the radio wire on the ignition switch that you would run directly to the fuse panel through a fuse? |

Without looking at the link, the ignition switch obviously has a direct +12V supply from the battery switch; you just need to connect to that at the ignition switch ( with an apprropriate fuse of course) Graham |
