Hi Everyone, Just came home from a week at Lake George, NY, with the boat. Despite a few days of rain and seasonably cool temps, we had a great week. Boat ran well, but towards the end of the week the ignition was giving me some trouble. Usually the first start in the morning, I would turn the key and hear just a "click". I'd shut it off and try again...sometimes I'd get another "click" and sometimes it would fire up. Never left me stranded, which is a good thing! I'm thinking it could be the solenoid or perhaps the starter or perhaps just some moisture. Any thoughts??? Thanks! |

If you are gettin a click it could be corroded connections on the starter solenoid or the assist solenoid (a 2nd solenoid that is mounted on top of the engine). Check the terminals and clean them. If the clicking stops then fine, otherwise you might have to replace the assist solenoid or the starter soleniod.... |
