I have read the threads on interior LED lighting and will probably make a spring project out of doing the Oznium LEDs. One topic I have not seen alot about is under swim platform lighting or underwater lighting at the back of the boat.
Has anyone done this and what did you use?
Thanks Rob

I've had it installed. Not sure the manufacturer, but I beleive it's a light strip. Similar or the same as these.

I had LED pucks put under my old Sea Ray, but like these better.

Hey Rob check out this thread. I installed the Lumitec seablaze3 and absolutely love them! I paid $400 for the pair and they are VERY bright! We love going out for a night swim with them. I get a ton of compliments on them....heck even the Coast Guard officer said "cool lights" as they boarded my boat one night on the way home from boaters beach!

Ben,
Thanks. That looks very nice, especially the video while cruising. The wake is lit up very cool. I looked at prices and the SeaBlaze3 seem to be going for around $250 each now. One question, did they drill a hole through the transom to mount or is it a surface mount where a wire runs up above the water line? Not a problem either way just curious. Thanks again.
Looks like I am leaning toward 2 SeaBlaze3 underwater with Oznium strip LEDs under the extended platform. Then more Oznium strip lights in the cockpit.

Yes there is a small hole in the transom to run the wire thru. It's beleive it's bedded in 3M 4200...I think thats the semi flexible sealant. I believe the hole is smaller than the diam. of a pencil. I've got some more pics I will post when I get a chance(on my other computer at home)

Bliss36 - do you have the four way lumitecs? Im wondering if they require a special type of switch.

We have the blue Lumitec Seablaze3. The Seablaze3 does have a 2 color operation ex. blue&white, but it does not use a 4 color option. I think what you are refering to is the overhead mounting orbit lights. These lights are fully sealed and IP67 compliant, but are not meant for underwater use.

This is available in the 4 color option and can be controlled with a normal spst toggle switch like the ones Four Winns uses. You change color by toggling the switch on/off till you reach the color you want.

Below are some more pics of the Seablaze3:

I got them at Great Lakes Marine Innovations. I fired them up last night to make sure all the leds are lit and so far so good on the qaulity.

Unfortunately I have been swamped with work and family obligations. I haven't even had the chance to pull the cover off the boat since I posted my questions. Several of you have done awesome projects and I plan on getting around to mine soon. I head for Maine for my 3 week vacation the end of June so I need to get it done by then.
I plan on the oznium strips in the cockpit and either the SeaBlaze 3's in the water under the swim platform or the Coastal Night Lights (http://www.coastalnightlights.com/orders.html).
I will post when I get to the work.
Thanks Rob

I finally got around to working on the boat this Memorial Day weekend. I installed my Oznium LED strip lights under the dash (port and starboard) and in the cubbys (port and starboard). I used 19 inch blue strips for each. I wired them up to the 4 way controller from Oznium. Then I put a 38 inch strip under the extended swim platform between the hull and platform. I wired this to position 2 on the 4 way controller. I have to say the Ozniums look great and the remote controller works very nicely.
I just ordered 2 - 4" x 6" LED underwater lights from http://www.coastalnightlights.com
I plan on wiring these into the same circuit as the 38 inch strip light I already installed. I will snap a photo when all done. Thanks to all for the help on this board.

I hope to be able to snap a few photos this week. The 4x6 inch LED panels arrived and I hope to get them installed this coming weekend. They are going under the water on the transom. Sorry to keep you waiting but I am refinishing the outboard this week. I will have photos of that as well.
Take care Rob

I just wired in the transome lights. I have not yet screwed them in but they work. Blindingly bright. This is in full daylight. This is the Coastallights.com 4x6 inch LED and Oznium strip.
