I have a 1998 FW 258 Vista with two batteries and a Guest charger. Can I mix a group 27 and group 29 battery if both are standard lead acid batteries without adversely affecting the life of either battery? Are there other issues I should consider?

Thanks,

You should have no problems!!!! Its when you mix gelcel, lead, and glass types. More so when you are using the same type of charger.

Good luck

I have a group 27 that came new with the boat, and added a group 31 the following season. I have them setup as starting and house respectively, using a Blue Sea Systems switch and combiner. Off season I leave them on a Guest 20 amp dual bank smart charger. Crossing fingers- going on season 5 with no problems.
