So I bought one of these on fleebay thinking it was a good deal. Turned out to be missing the mounting bracket and screws, along with some sort of ring that goes behind it. (See this link.

Now I can get some stainless bolts and screws at the hardware store, and fab up a bracket, but what exactly is the ring that goes behind the remote? Anyone install one of these? I was thinking just use some marine grade silicone behind it to prevent any water from getting through.

Yeah, it's just a foam ring to create a "seal".

I would think you could cut a foam ring, or use silicone as you suggested - Turns out that's what either my dealer or Four Winns did on mine....
