Easy for me to say, but I would just screw it into the dash. (and I have) That Garmin is a small unit and sell it with the boat. By that time, newer & better ones will have hit the market.

You are probably right. I only got this boat three weeks ago. I am sure after this brackets fails once it will get screwed to the dash.
