I'm in the market for a marine AC unit, here in FL the cuddy is useless 10 months out of the year without. I need the smallest possible (small cuddy). Looking to run off inverter and just use with engine on. No battery bank (at least for now).

Go!

Looking into this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6000-Btu-Boat-Y ... 2816wt_952

Can run off a 900w inverter.

I take it that you have not done the math on this! As to how much power is needed to run this & the inverter.

oh screw it. I can get used carry on's for like $300 on craigslist. No need to re-invent the wheel for the few times I'll use it. It will fit stowed under the rear jump seat and I can pick up a 2000w inverter gen with a used AC cheaper then a marine air system not installed. Slap it on the swim platform, set AC on hatch.. nice cool cabin in FL :)

and no loss of cuddy space, which isn't that big to begin with (but amazingly I can lay flat stretched out and i'm 6'2)

I might go built in one day, but there's a shortage of room. On the Stingray it will have to be installed either in a build out along side the back of the cuddy on one side, or below the v-birth (getting rid of potty). Same with your 205 Sundowner. The only place to install it is either in a build out along passenger side or remove potty and put it there.

That's it. That's why the 205 SD wasn't really a big choice of mine aside from it's awesome cockpit seating. The cuddy is the smallest of the lot, same square footage as the 195 I picked up but 1ft more headroom. Remember FW counted the swim platform in it's advertised length. That's only a 20.5ft boat.

Your SD doesn't have anywhere handy to stuff a carry on unless it's under the v-birth fill in. Luckily the way the 195CS is made, it stuffs under a rear jumpseat 99% out of the way. So really, no big deal having a carry on.

Ha, that's how you make the interior moldy. I wish I could find one of those AC's in a samsonite suitcase..

Those things are huge. There's an AC in a briefcase forsale in NOLA if anyone lives by there, he won't ship. That's the smallest and most efficient water cooled unit money can by....and they stopped selling them years ago. It's tiny and 7000btu

The smallest perm install is the marinaire micra. Can run off a 1000w inverter.
