I did a search, it seems the factory space for a cooler takes a 36 quart marine cooler. Can anyone advise if the Coleman 36 quart Xtremen Cooler fits? I have a large version of that cooler, and I'm not sure if it will really keep ice for five days at 90 degrees but it sure does seem to keep it for a long time. I'm not sure if they are dimensionally the same as a "regular" 36 quart cooler.

That's agood question... I just ordered the 36 quart Igloo cooler from West Marine. I don't know about the Extreme series. If you need the bungees to hold it down, I called the Four Winns dealer in Lake George, NY and they were fantastic to deal with.

I just picked up a coleman xtreme cooler (on sale walmart), supposed to last like 5 days with ice?. Yeah right. Packed full with ice, inside the cabin the best I get is about 24 hours. That's okay for 99.9999% of what I do but still...

The key to getting a long life out of ice in any cooler is that everything must be cold before putting it into the cooler.

Well, being in Ohio having 5 consecutive days of 90 degree weather is really low on the worry list, so I doubt I'll ever put any cooler to that test. I was just wondering if the Xtreme would fit in the factory space. I'll order it, worst case is I have an extra cooler that won't fit there!

Do a search for "Igloo Marine 25".. They sell them on eBay.. should be a direct replacement for a stock 268 cooler..

If I'm not mistaken, as the OP already said, the 36 quart Igloo is a direct replacement on a 268 Vista, not a Marine 25. Curious if anyone has just looked up the dimensions of the Extreme and the regular 36 and compared that, seems it would help in answering the question before purchasing one.

I know the 25 fits the "under seat" standard compartments. I'll see if I can find the dimensions on line for the Xrteme 36 vs the standard.
