Hey everybody! I will soon be the proud owner of a new Magma kettle grill (West Marine is having a sale btw where you get a free cover) and I opted for the flush mount with the rain cap. Can anyone give any insight on installation? I have a 268 Vista and was thinking of putting it on the Port side just ahead of the fresh water cap. Is there anything I should be aware of or any hints that may be out there. I am just a bit nervous drilling a 1" hole in the fiberglass (luckily its above the waterline! -ha).

Just make sure the there is nothing below that you can hit. Use a sealer and mount it on the opposite side if the gas fill. Run the drill in reverse for 2 or 3 sec. so you don't put cracks into the gel coat.

I don't store the LP on the boat, I leave them in my dock box until needed. LP is heaver than air and if it leaks, it could go into the engine compartment. BOOM!

I installed that mount on my h180. I think its in the h180 mods Link

I have an angled rod holder on the port side above the cooler, and the magma mount slides into it. Works well the one time I used it ...lol
