How would you store a box anchor here?

I have the same question, which is why mine still remains in the bag next to the shore spike!

I think I have an idea. If it works I'll post some pics.

I've never used one of those. But when I searched a bit online I saw posts from others that made a jig or storage bracket for their anchors. Something with a bit of framing or posts to allow their anchor to nestle into it. I'd imagine a similar sort of jig could be configured for a box anchor. I'd lean toward using synthetic board products like versatex or starboard. Bearing in mind those require using either a very expensive two-part glue or screws to fasten the pieces together.

I have one (and love it) and I just collapse it, toss it in its bag and put it in my rear fender locker. Yes...its an extra step to deploy and recover, but its not that big of a deal.

Forgot to update this... my idea did not work (I was going to put a metal bar across the hole and hang the box anchor from it) The box anchor is way to big for the bow anchor locker hole. However with 200' of 5/8" rope under her the anchor sits nicely on top of the pillow of rope. I do have to collapse it just to fit it in the locker, but no way around that.

The way they fold up nicely I would say it shouldn't be a problem. I just wanted mine on the bow because on the vista it is hard to store it in the cabin then carry it out to the bow.

Never heard of it either. Video was interesting. The way it folds up, I am surprised that it does not fit in the anchor storage.

Looks like you are on lake Havasu. why would you have to wait until May?

It would be real nice to know a FW owner in Phoenix. We are looking at moving there before next school year. We have actually been looking lately at the paradise valley area as a possibility. We were thinking only chandler/ gilbert area...but all the lakes are up north.

Finally used the box anchor and rope on Sunday....not sure I made the right choice. It held, but it came up full of mud. The anchor is HEAVY and difficult to pull up over the bow without scratching up the gel coat...the 5/8" rope is also very difficult to deploy/retract by hand. Oh and it doesn't fit around my cleats. It's great rope, but maybe designed for a windlass...

Now what do I do?

Oh yeah...

I'm thinking about trying a mushroom anchor for Mohave - Have you tried one up on Mead?
