Just wondering what type of latch is used to hold the walk-through windshield open when underway. I like to leave the windshield open for air movement and just plain being able to walk around and not worry about it slamming shut from a gust of wind. Pictures would be helpful too if there are any available. I have a few ideas but just need some more too chose from.

I don't have a latch, but about a 3" strap with a snap, which snaps to the snaps for the cover on the inside bottom of the window.

Is there some type of rubber bumper the windshield rests on?

Yes. Mine from factory wasn't quite large enough with the tower, so I got one from a hardware store, and drilled/tapped into the tower to mount.

fiz,
My 99 has a rubber bumper that attaches to the bottom rail of the windshield. I don't use anything to tie it open and have never had a problem with it. I latch it closed to trailer, but on the water it just sits on the bumper. I'll take a picture this week while I have the cover off.
What lakes do you boat?

Ya mine has a little rubber button the windshield rest on. But I don not have a strap or latch. Never had any issues at all either.

A picture would be great. I talked to SS marine and they have a few options I will look at. I generally boat at Strawberry Res, Rockport early in the year before the water level goes down, spent the last two weekends at Jordanelle the water level is real low and with as many boats that are on there at any given time it gets crowded fast, and spent the Fourth of July at Starvation. I live in Salt Lake near I-80 so any thing to the east is where I like to go. Never been to Willard or Pineview may head that way next summer.

Rubber bumper with strap for me too. I do strap it open while underway, but it is probably not necessary. Newer boats have a magnetic catch to hold the windshield open.
