I pesonally have never used one. We do have a couple people in the boating club we belong to who have and use them regulalry.

They work well. My friend has been installing a regular A/C system replacing the hatch unit. They do get to be a pain storing and toting them up and down the foredeck. It may not be that big of a deal in an area where A/C is not used as often as it is needed in Florida. For them, it became a pain. We would pull into a marina, they would set it up. Then later if we did more boating, say, going to a restaurant for dinner or to one of the local springs, they would have to remove and store it, then unpack, etc when we returned. It just go old.
