What type of flag pole do you have? I've tried the one that mounts in your stern light, and it worked great on my Sea Ray, but doesn't on my 225. I got a few good recommendations for one sold by West Marine, but it doesn't seem to work on my boat.

Does any one have any personal experience with this?

I have looked for flush mount flag poles -- particularly for the old H240.

Best option out there is the Four Winns kit. Not cheap at 200 bucks or so for mount & pole - but it's super high quality and the mount is a stainless wonder.

VERY well built.

Email the Winnisquam guys -- they'll get you hooked up cheaper than most anyone on that setup.

200 bones  Man that is alot. Fire check the website for a picture. It may not be the best but I know there is one there. For that kind of Money I think I would look into the Perko mount and teak pole for a classic look. It's not flush mounted. Therefore the install would be easier. I bet you could find a place where it would be out of the way. I like the classic look of the teak flagpole.

Any luck with the flagpole mount and staff? Did you go with the fourwinn's? If so what was the price and verdict? I want to add something to the 210.

A thread form April 2009, brought back to life.................................
You have to be quick to keep up with Fire, he buys and sells boats faster than you can blow your nose. He sold the 225 this past year. Here is what he bought for it. Not FW.

I knew he had sold his boat. Apologize for bringing back the old thread, it seemed so relevant to what I'm trying to accomplish. That was a rail mount anyway. I'm looking for a flush mount in the fiberglass, so I'll probably end up getting from the dealer.

I know the Perko Flush mount are nice, and should work. A buddy bought the 26 degree angled design, as it fit nicely on his boat starboard gunwale, towards the stern

Impulse, the flag mount I bought came with a mount that screwed into the fiberglass. Not sure if Taylor Made makes a flush mount or not, but this flag pole cannot be beat.

Was it the one that stuck up or flushmount? Taylor Made is damn proud of their stainless flag staffs. The aluminum ones arn't to bad, but I bet the fall out easy without some tape or something to hold them in the hole. These mounts don't have any kind of quick release that I can tell, how do you keep your flag and staff from ending up at the bottom of the lake?

It comes with the one that sticks up. There is a nice plastic thumbscrew that screws into the mount to hold the flag pole in tight. I haven't had a problem.

There's a west marine not to far from the house, actually on my way home from work, I think I'll stop there and check them out. I'm thinking it would be best to get the holder and staff as a set, this way the fit is good, less chance of loosing the flag. BTW, I can see the ones that stick up having the set screw, but that wouldn't work for the flushmount type. Some kind of quick release that catches on the staff or spring load ball bearing, (like a socket and socket wrench) would be needed I would think. I don't know maybe they are made that way, I haven't looked yet or seen one up close on someone's boat.

I had the one from West Marine that sticks in the stern light. Admiral and her friend forgot to yank it out when they decided that they wanted to sip their bloody mary's on a different little island.

Do not run at WOT with the stern light flag pole as it will not be there long.

At least I have a picture to remember it by :(

Spend the $$$ for the nice one...it is well worth it!

The upper half...

And the business end...

The other mount is held on by three screws, but you have to drill into the fiberglass. I was all set to use it on this boat, but didn't have a real good spot.
