Does anyone know if the wider steps fitted to later ladders are available seperately, for fitting to an earlier (2004) ladder?

I have a 2000 248 vista and had to replace the ladder, if they are the same on yours, they will not work. The older are have "snap on" steps the new are rivoted, so the only way to change is to replace the whole ladder.

Thanks, yes, mine are the clip on type; does the basic ladder metalwork on the later type look the same, just with holes drilled in?

Project for next winter perhaps; make and fit some wider ( or rather, deeper ?) teak steps. If it doesn'r work, I'll just have to buy a new ladder if I want wider steps!

I put some of the new steps on a 2003 Vista 238. All we had to do was drill holes and screw them in. My friend wanted to use screws, but stainless rivets would work. The steps are about $10 each. It is worth the change.

Were the steps you used fairly easy to find? I haven't been able to locate any so far !

I got them from the local Four Winns dealer. He had them in stock. If you can't find them in the UK. Someone in the states may be able to help.

Sorry, i didn't read your reply properly and didn't realise you were referring to the OEM steps (I blame it on my 2 hospital visits this week to get a piece of steel swarf and rust out of my eye; I don't want to go through that again!).

Do you have a part number for the steps? ; my nearest FW dealer with a parts department is over 100 miles away, (which in UK terms is a long way!), they do have a more local boat sales location though from which I can pick up pre-ordered parts.
