Post subject:  What kind of material is this?
Does anyone know what type of material Four Winns uses underneath the sunsport seating? It is white in color and they have made 3 compartments for storage underneath the seat. They also have used it along side the engine. I would post a picture but can't figure out how to do that. :evil:

I don't have that boat but the typical material down there is Starboard. It's available in sheets but can be pricey. Depending on what you're doing, UHMW plastic (like used in plastic cutting boards) can sometimes be a suitable substitute.

that looks like the right stuff. I was going to make a speaker box for a sub and was thinking of using the same material or even clear. :)

I believe the factory sub box supplied by Four Winns is made from Starboard.

Starboard can be cut and shaped with standard woodworking tools, but is hard to glue and seal. I've tried, and the only luck I've had is with resin based epoxy. I've not heard good things about the FW sub box, probably because the Starboard would be hard to seal. I went with 3/4" plywood, wood screws, glue, caulk, and then three coats of spray on truck bed liner - no rattles there.
