Post subject: | Magma Grill on Bimini Pole??? |
Hello everyone. I have searched the net to find the answer, but to no avail. Has anyone ever tried mounting the magma grill to the bimini support poles? I have the two-piece full bimini on my sundowner, and I am really trying to figure out where to mount the kettle grill. I was thinking of using a flushmount socket like this ![]() ![]() Thanks. -Gary |

I have seen it done on small bowriders many times. It seems to work fine attached to the bimini supports. ![]() Go for it ! |

I would not trust a flaming hot grill to be mounted to something so typically wobbly as a bimini pole. Find a better mount point or set it up in a way that allows the hole to be reasonably level. |

I wouldn't want the flame of a few greasy hamburgers near my canvas. I have never put fire to 303 but I bet that stuff will flame up in a heart beat. |

I've seen a number of different ways to mount a grill. I've used at least two kinds. One being a fishing pole mount and the other being on top of a removable floor post. Perhaps your installation might work better with the fishing pole kind of mount? I've also seem mounts that use bracket sockets on the inside of a gunwale and then an L bracket up and over the gunwale. There are lots of ways to get a grill mounted. I would strongly suggest whatever you pick be as secure as possible and in a location where you could easily deal with it should the fire get out of hand. As in, toss that sucker overboard before it sets the boat alight. |
