I own a 2011 H200, and the bimini top constantly unzips when travelling at anything over 30 mph. Any thoughts on a reason or fix.

thanks.

I wish that feature could be added to bikini tops

You mean the bimini boot unzips at speed?

A great idea for bikinis! Not so much for Speedos.

maybe it's just lubed too good. My boat is a 2000 and it doesn't have any kind of locking ability on the zipper, but they also don't move as good as new. They do creep though, usually 1-2 inches after a day on the lake.

If I remember I was just going to snag a safety pin or two to keep em from sliding. Or if you want to get real fancy, you can get a small piece of elastic string, tie a loop on the zipper, and sew in a button to the top. Zip the zipper closed, and affix the elastic loop to the button to keep it from sliding open. Those cheap women's black elastic hair ties all girls use would be the perfect size.

Thanks Ric,
Thats sounds like an easy fix. I was wondering if i need to increase the tension on the front straps? It does currently take a bit of effort to hook the straps as is and not sure how tight it should be.

Understood now. I never travel much over 20-25 with the bimini up, it just sounds like it is straining too much. Give the front straps a twist or two to stop them from vibrating as much.

I use a small piece of cord or shoestring to keep the zippers tied together. I also try and constrict the open area at the left and right end of the boots as these catch air and put a lot of stress on the bimini. This, from a bad experience where I was trailering my boat down the road and noticed the entire boot waving in the air like a flag. Tore the zipper out and all...If I recall, I ordered a new boot (or had it repaired).

Thanks Greg,

I will try that first and increase the tension.

And thanks to everyone for their posts.

I have the same issue over 25 as well... Like everyone else I just got some paracord and tied the zipper to the pole.
