Out of interest, where would you Q on your boat; on the swimstep? I like the idea of it fitting where the current cooler is since I rarely use it....

I will do 95% of our grilling on the beach, hence the reason I went the Weber Q route. I will also use it for tailgating at baseball games during the summer and the fall at football games. For the few times we are on the hook and grill I bought one of these:

It is a grill mat and made to go under grills on your deck. It is 30" x 58" and will probably cut it in half actually. Just rolls up and stores next to the grill. If by the slim chance anything falls on the platform, this mat will catch it.

Nice grill! I went the Magma route with the flush mount and purchased this for use when not on the boat

Yes those Magmas are nice. Funny story. I was all ready to pull the trigger on a new Weber Q. Decided to check Craiglist. Found this one for $20...yes $20. A little oven cleaner. pressure washer and $8 for a new ignition switch. For $28, less than just the stand for your Magma I have a new grill that looks almost unused.

I have a second one that was given to me for free after I paid $70 for my first one. Just needs new ign switch, cleaning, and a regulator.

Those Weber Q's are GREAT grill's. Our dock neighbor has one and that thing gets seriously abused and after 3 years still keeps going strong. I'm on my 2nd Kuuma in 3 years
