I finished up my cupholder LED's this weekend. They turned out greater than I had expected and after a bit of trial and error on the first few ended up being fairly basic to make. Oh and the best part...10 of them for less than $30 bucks total! Each one consists of 3 LED lights and a miniblind rod. Well here 's the pics, let me know what you think.

Here's the miniblind rod. I cut one rod in half and put a half in the oven at 350 for about 5 minutes. This turns it into a pliable consistency but still holds its octogan shape. Next I wrapped it around the cupholder making sure not to twist it and held it for about 30 seconds until it firmed up. Once cooled, I notched it every quarter inch or so on the inside of the ring with a dremel so the light would have something to "catch" to and carry around the ring.

Finished cupholder...1 LED at each end of the ring and one in the bottom to light up the drinks.

Here's the final installed pics:

Let me know what you guys think...next on the list are the acrylic LED rings for the tower speakers! Might wait until the middle of the summer for that one though.

Really nice. Defusers like that sell for $150 around here. I might try this one.

You are a GOD ! That is awesome!!! Very nice job. What did you use for LED's? did they come ready for 12V use with the resistor already attached? Can you post a picture of just one of these for reference. I was planning on taking some plexiglass to my buddy's machine shop and having them machine me some rings but hell I think I will give this a try.

Once again, very nice job!!

That's awesome! Where exactly did you get those rods from? Since I already have the wire 12 volt wire run all the way around my boat for the LED's in the pockets above the cupholders this would be a pretty easy plug in type thing. i may try it out. How did you secure the rings to the cupholders and then back to the boat? Caulk, tape? Thanks for the info!

Amazing. And CHEAP!!! (I mean in cost, not in appearance)

One more question- can you see the wires/tape between the cupholder rim and the mounting surface or did you find some way to hide that?

I was thinking the same thing. I am going to make it a full circle and glue the Leds to the rod.

I must say very nice job. No one will ever know they didn't come that way, except for all of us. Slightly off topic, but have you or anyone reading this added extra cupholders in your h210ss or similar? It looks to me that one could easily add more cupholders to the rail that the 4 sit in that are in the cockpit area? I just wonder if there is any bracing or wires underneath. I'd love to add four more cupholders in the cockpit area along this rail.

Paradise - After looking back at your pic's I have another question. It looks like you did add some cupholders in the well area just behind the driver and pass swivel seats, is that right? Or did your boat come that way? Mine are on the rail in the cockpit area.
