My new issue of Boating World came yesterday and On the cover is the new Horizon 260 SS. I asked the Admerail if she wanted to see ou new boat. She ofcorse said yea right especially with the $119,000 price tag. But I was pointing out the boats finer points like it is roomy and has a huge swim platform. One thing I did point out was that it has a filler cusion for the bow that has a head rest and can be used for a 3 wide seat in the bow as well as a play pen for the boy ( he is 3). But what the didn't show was the bow with a picture of it. I was wondering has anyone seen this, and what are your thoughts on it?

I loved that article. I showed the admiral the pictures of the big 260 bowrider and then informed her that I bought my new 2006 255 Sundowner for half the cost listed for the 260. Now she thinks that I am a an economical boater.

The bow fill in cushion that can be used as a third seat was stolen from the Yamaha Jet Boat designs (We sell those here as well) Frenchy really like them and also the seats on the swimplatform (thus kind of replicating that on the new 18,19,20). It's a great idea and our Yamaha customers love the seating up front. I do love the bow seating extras that the 260 offeres like the arm rest and the head rest of the loungers. If you get to see one in person you won't be disappointed.

Well, I was disappointed when I saw the H260 at the boat show. I agree that the bow area is big, and the loungers are a nice feature, but my dissapointment was in the lack of room in the cockpit. There is less room in the new H260 than in a 2005 H230/H240. The sun pad is so darn big, it kills the cockpit space.

I wonder how hard it would be to retrofit one of these on older boats. Seems like it would be a good idea.
