does anyone know the height of door that will be needed for a 268 or 278 vista?

With the arch the 268 sits around 12' 6" high. We had to drop our arch to get into storage this winter and it wasn't too bad. I need to create a white rubber gasket for the base of the arch so I don't have to recaulk every time I drop it. Our process http://www.boatinglakemichigan.com/2012/12/preparing-for-winter.html#links

Do you remember what the height of your boat was with it down? Was the arch able to sit below the windsheild?

I didn't measure the height with it down but we didn't gain the full 2 feet difference back. I would guess it lowered it to about 11' 6".

Looking at this picture it looks like you could get the arch to go below the windshield but then the base of the arch sticks up above it. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SNCv93M7LnI/UMKZFNaVkaI/AAAAAAAAAv0/C2eGRH_qSiY/s1600/IMGP9431.JPG

Once I tried to get my 2007 H200 in to a 2 car garage and the windshield would not go.. however, our garage molding turned our 7 ft garage door into a 6'9 or 6'10...

It may very well have fit if I unhooked it and lowered the tongue all the way... it was close... I decided it wasn't going to be worth the trouble of doing that over and over again... I have also heard of people letting some air out of the tires to get her in...

Since there is wiring going through the arch, did they give enough slack to move it down into the cockpit if needed (at least one side of the arch)? That looks like it would be kinda tricky :?

At that point I think you would be better off splicing in some connectors into the harness and just removing the arch to get under the door. The arch on the 268 is very light and 2 people can handle it no problem...I've heard the 278 arch is heavier and may require more help to raise and lower it into place.
