By the way, do you think that changing the fuel filter could somehow introduce air into the line? I only ask because I just had it serviced and they replaced the fuel filter, new plugs, new impeller, etc.

I am wondering if the mechanic skipped a step after getting everything back together (bleed the air off of the system)

For sure yes, he should have filled the filter with gas and bled out any air. I always fill it with air and I've never had a problem with it starting afterwards. Keep in mine that the pump in a boat FI system does not push the fuel from the tank it sucks it through the filter and can't suck air,

Aside from the chirping noise, my 5.0 gxi sounds nearly identical to that...does that mean, that I too should be concerned?
