So i had my boat out yesterday ran great and purred like she usually does. went to pull a few of the guys and for some reason I lost my hole shot. It just seems to have gradually gotten worse. once up on plane it runs fun and it like it normally is.

All service is up to date however i have never done plugs on the boat since owning it. so couple questions.

1. replacing plugs do they need to be marine grade (do they even have marine plugs) or just reg auto ones?
2. new plug wires rotor and cap perhaps?
3. air/fire safety filter?

can't really think of what else could be wrong or worth changing out.

thanks for the help and feedback!

I have the same engine, got a batch of bad gas. Feels like I'm dragging the dock with me.

Since the issue is fairly "abrupt", I would say gas; however, given your plugs, wires, etc are about 13 yrs old, it would also be a good plan to replace them, along with the cap and rotor. Look over your prop for damage, and check out K&N's website for an after market filter/flame arrestor. They look good, and perform better.

Probably not the prop hub, but something to consider.
