I'm mounting a mirror on the windshield of my 96 200 horizon. I used the little set screws in the clamp last year but the dang mirror fell off twice and got me on the top of the foot....anyways I'd like to find a more permanent way to mount it. I pulled one of the windshield frame screws out and used that but I'd need to drill a hole for the other side. I'm not sure how far the glass goes into the frame and do not wanna cause problems with cracked glass. Does anyone know how far into the frame the glass usually goes? Or does anyone have a better way to mount one?

Welcome to the forums! You have same windshield as me, and I just recently drilled holes for new stainless bimini hardware (no problems). Not sure how far it goes into the frame, but it "appears" to be held in place mostly by the rubber strip. I think you would be safe drilling high up on the frame.

Where ya boat at? Lets see some pics of your boat, always like to see ones the same vintage as mine.

Are you sure you want it like that? I got a large cipa mirror that has large turn knobs and rubber bushings...it stays put and it easy to adjust...large mirror too.

If by chance you have a tower on your boat, I'm pretty happy with the mirror supplied that mounts on the tower instead of the windshield. It allows me to mount high enough that I'm never in the way of viewing what's behind me...
