Uh oh... the owner is advertizing his H250 as a 2005. The 0M1 on the sterndrive seems to translate to 2004. Is there another way to confirm the model year of the boat itself? In Colorado, we don't issue title for boats, so, can't just look at the title. Is there a HIN lookup or something like that?

The last 2 digits in the HIN are the year indicators.

If the boat was built after august 1 1984 the last 2 digits of the hull ID are the year.

It is not unusual for a boat that is a 2005 model year to have a engine/drive from 2004....in fact that is pretty normal.

Looking at the Four Winns site, the specs are the same on the 2004 & 2005 H250, so the HIN would be the main way to tell.

HIN is on the rear starboard corner....last 2 digits are the year.
