Good morning and thanks for the assist! I have a few questions I'm hoping some of the more knowledgeable folks on this forum can answer.
1. What's a good manual for Merc 8.1L Mag (not HO)? I've read review of the Seloc and there seems to be a view that the Seloc manual is not detailed enough.
2. Is there a good video for winterizing the 8.1? Seems pretty tight in the engine compartment
3. Is there a good way to flush the toilet system, other than the dockside vacuums? I don't have a slip and will pull the boat out of the water each time I use it.
4. The FW Owners Manual seems rather scant on details of how to use some of the features on the boat. Any better manuals for the boat? (2005 250H)
5. What's the weight of the original Danforth anchor? Looks like it has been replaced and the two tynes seem a little short for the clips in the bow anchor locker.
6. For the camper/enclosure, I can have a local shop make the panels. Any other suggestions of where to find the enclosures? I checked ebay and didn't find one.
Thanks much!
Rick

The boat didn't originally come with an anchor. As to the head, your choices will likely be:

1) Stop by a marina and have it pumped out before you load it on the trailer
2) Make up your own pumping apparatus (a Google search will turn up a few people who have done this and seem to be happy, but not many)
3) Disconnect the pump-out plumbing and make it a non-pump-out, meaning that you'd have to remove the toilet from the boat to empty it.

RV places can't pump it out; the fittings used on RV's are different than on boats.

I have both the Seloc and the Volvo full set of shop manuals. I find both to be lacking in some way for almost any job. I can't speak to the Merc factory manuals.

As to boat features, do you have the thick owner's manual that has all the wiring diagrams in the back? That's as much as you'll be able to find in terms of written documentation. Where that leaves off, this forum picks up, so fire away with questions. The experience of real users will likely be more useful to you anyway.
