The whole cleaning & install process would have taken about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes........including a can of scotch!!!!!

Cheers, Craig

a can of scotch

I am wondering if it would be a good surface for the entire upper deck of my 288 ??

It it as soft underfoot as a carpet?

Its certainly not soft under foot as it is only 5mm thick, however it's not hard either.
We find that the grip is an awesome transformation. Especially putting wakeboards on etc.

Cheers, Craig

I have had Sea-Deak in 2 boats. If its outside, you need to go with light colors. The dark ones get too hot! Also there calling it "Easy to clean and stain resistant," Wellllllllllll not for me, I called them on this and they did nothing to help me. Other than then, its a good just becarful on how you use it.

I would think just fine. I have it at the helm and the repeated washing is not hurting it at all.

Is Seadek the best out there or is there one that is easier to clean and doesnt fade or get as hot? I am really interested in this stuff for my swim platform.

I think that all pads will fade long term, which is why I chose a lighter color.
The lighter color also helps keep it cooler than darker colors. Mine certainly doesn't get too hot.

Cheers, Craig.

We are looking at the lighter colored faux teak that they have for Seadek. I just wondered if it holds up over time or does it get mildew/mold on it? Can you use a pressure washer to clean it or will it destroy it? I got samples from them and it doesnt seem super durable of a material, so I am just trying to get some other opinions before I spend a bunch of money on it.

I saw seadek. They make one that says four Winn's . I was just thinking maybe factory would be better quality... There's some on eBay for sale. They don't state what year they came off though. I was trying to research four Winn's site. No luck

I had the same concern about factory vs sea-dek so I ended up ordering the factory mat through my dealer. I paid a good chunk of money for it mainly due to the shipping weight but the install is flawless, it is removable for cleaning or replacement, and is holding up very well (only 2 full seasons so far though).

I'm 50/50 though on which is better. That Sea-Dek install looks very nice to me.

Flyingdutchman,

That looks great. I ordered one Friday and went the factory route as well. I really liked the look of seadek but yours sold me. About $500 though

Yep...I paid just slightly more than that ($CDN) but it included installation (I hope your's does too). I've been very happy with it. I'm sure you will be too - no more worrying while getting on/off tubes or trying to get your wakeboard on/off...
