I've got a 2005 250H with a 496 and Bravo III. Today, running awesome (low 40s mph at WOT) and then after awhile, she'll make 4800-5000 RPM but speed dropped to ~32mph. Any thoughts? If B3 is a direct drive and the engine is spinning, I'm thinking one or more props are NOT spinning under load, at the correct RPM.

Oh, also, where is the fuel tank? Amidships or starboard? I noticed she seems to be listing a bit to starboard.

Thanks!
Rick

It's possible you spun a prop hub.

The fuel tank is centered and just forward of the engine compartment. It was common for these boats to have a starboard list if they had the dual battery option with both batteries installed in the original locations (both in the aft starboard corner). This is especially true if the fresh water tank is filled, as it too is on that side. The fix was to re-locate one or preferably both batteries to the port side.
