Just replaced my Volvo 5.7GL engine after a rebuild. The rebuilders dropped it in for me but I didn't take notice of the nuts and washers configuration at the flywheel end and now its sitting too high. I understand there is a square nut (although I cant see it now with the engine in), should the engine sit directly on this nut. Unfortunately I think I left the big washers on top of the square nut and then the engine on top of that. I suspect it is engine out again - Anyone know the correct layout of nuts and washers.

Maybe this will help. The engine sits directly on the nut.

Thanks for that Jimbo. I saw that diagram and couldn't understand the use of the No14 washer. However it would make sense if there is no height adjustment on the rear mounting and the square nut it tightened down onto to 14 washer. I suppose if it is designed to be the correct height and just the angle is altered by the front mountings it would make sense.
