Blessed....

Winnisquam Marine is a great place. We tested a 258 Vista a couple weeks ago, over there. It's a nice family operation.

We live about 45 minutes south of North Conway area, off Rt-16. Our new (03 268V) is at Melvin Village Marina ... the other Four Winns dealer in the area. It's on the north west side of Winnipesaukee (Where Bill ... bhurley ... has his 288V).

A REAL NICE place to have dinner (right on the water .. excellent food and service), would be Lake House Grill at Church Landing in Meredith.

It depends on how you plan on getting to the Conway area. Meredith is at the north eastern tip of Winni and would take about 1/2 hour to 45 min. to get to from the dealer in Winnisquam. Your routes to get to Conway are varied .... kind of depends on how you feel about the towing. If it's "all in a day's work" ... and you have no issues with pulling the boat around ... you can get right on I-93 (from either the dealer or Meredith) and head up to Lincoln and then cross over to Conway on the Kankamaugus.

If you want to stick to the more level and main roads ... turn right out of the dealership and stay on Rt-3 to Rt-11 east (in Laconia/Gilford) and follow all the way to Rochester. Get on Rt-16 north .... all the way up to the Conway area. If you did want to hit The Grill at Meredith (you would not regret it), you could go back to Rt-11 by just heading south-east on Rt-3 (turn left out of The Grill) and meeting the junction for Rt-11 in Laconia/Gilford area. Continue to Rochester, as noted above.

Anyway, feel free to let me know if you would like any other detail ... I'm sure Bill has some good suggestions as well.

Thanks much for the detailed pointers M3. I had planned to handle the delivery Friday A.M. such that if there was something out of sorts (really doubt it) then it could be dealt with while I toured around Sat & Sun. Even with the presumption that all is perfect I intended to leave the boat and return for it Mon for the trek home. My tow rig is nearly 22' long (excessive I know) so with an additional 26' of boat & trailer I figured the pkg would be a little tough to navigate hotel, restauraunt and mall parking. I don't plan to drag it nor do I plan to stop until I get home & in the water. 8)
Lake House grill looks like a must see I will definatly be stopping there. Is N. Conway actually my best stratagy for my wife to enjoy some spending or is there an even better spot?

If you go to Meredith, explore the whole little town center that, more or less, surrounds the town dock area ... the mill, etc.

Meredith town docks, from the water:

Conway area is a great sight seeing and shopping area ... all spread out from Conway at the southern end to North Conway at the northern end.

By the way, there is some "outlet" shopping right off I-93, on RT-3 ..... on the way to the marina, if you come off I-93. The shopping is right about where Rt-132 hits Rt-3. The marina is right below where it says Winnisquam, on Rt-3, on the south side of the road. Se link below:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=laconia+nh&ie=UTF8&ll=43.48805,-71.515503&spn=0.127034,0.232086&z=12

While the drive around Winni (north side or south side).... to get to RT-16 to head north to Conway area, is very nice - you may also want to consider running up I-93 to Lincoln and heading across the Kankamaugus, through the mountains, to Conway. The Kankamaugus meets RT-16 just below Conway.

Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about any specifics.

OMG Merideth looks amazing! I love smaller historical towns and one that you could moore at would be unreal. There is no oppertunity to do that here locally unless you boat in the Harbor - pass.
c5er - congrats returned. Week seems so far away doesn't it? Blue will be beautiful - It was a navy blue 200 at the boat show that triggered this FW kick for me. :D Pics will be mandatory

Check your anodes...

And if it were me, I wouldn't take the dealer's word for it.

Blessed,

Your new boat looks awesome. I seem to buy mine off the lot....not patient enough to order one and wait for it. Someday maybe.

As for Meredith, that is our summer home away from home (though I usually go back in the winter to ice fish and snowmobile there). You can't go wrong with the Lakehouse Grill, right on the water. If you want Italian, you won't be dissapointed with Lago which is just around the corner (where Rt. 3 and Rt. 25 intersect) with a great view of Meredith Bay. For more pictures of Meredith, check out this link: http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopost/ ... hp?cat=522

When you're done with lunch, you can head right out on Rt. 25 east which will put you on Rt. 16 north and then drive to Conway and North Conway for the outlet stores. North Conway has every outlet you can imagine or dream of, but they are on both sides of the highway, that is they are not in a huge single mall like you might find in the southern US. If you'd rather a mall, the Tanger Outlets at exit 20 (Rt. 3) east of I-93 are pretty good.

Have fun with your new toy!!

Thanks Gents, for the positive comments and the insiders pointers. Looking forward to being part of the FW club.
KK its funny; I myself have never been accused of cornering the market in patience but my ocd need to anlyze my major purchases and make sure I could never regret not having a trinket trumps my getting one off the lot.
You are right though the wait is tough.
So Tilton and Conway for the Admiral - she will be pleased - and for me just Winnisquam and local sights. See, I am only one stop shopping; maybe I am not so hard to please after all

Hey Blessed! If you are doing your shopping - you might talk to Ryan about some maintenance type tools... Because I'm adamant about doing my own oil changes, I had Ryan get me all the volvo-specific stuff I would need to do it... and a couple of oil filters... fuel filters... etc. No sales tax in new Hampshire helps... and he gave me a bit of a discount as well.

Not sure if you are going to do much of that yourself - but you might consider it.

Yeah CC, that had occurred to me also - Spare Prop & Prop Wrench, Filters, Anodes, Shop Manuals for the GI & SX, Impeller, Dock Whips, Ropes, Fenders, Skis, and a cheapo wakeBoard to keep the animals off my LF.
I used to strip cars (legally) and work as a mechanic before I got caught up in oil & gas so I am comfortable with a wrench. Used to build entire cars from the engine block out before I got a salary & lazy.
I rarely open my tool chest anymore because I most often replace something before warranty lapses however as my disorder goes - I set up for having and not neediing over needing and not having.

If you get factory shop manuals, be aware that a full set consists of:

1) Engine
2) EFI Diagnostics (twice the size of the engine manual)
3) Drive

The manuals contain very few part numbers. Many of those are contained in two separate documents:

4) Parts Catalog - Marine Gasoline Engines
5) Parts Catalog - Sterndrives

And of course, all of those need to be the right ones for your engine & drive version. For example, I have a 5.7GXi-F. The same manual for my engine applies to the 5.7GXi-A,B,C, and D, but NOT E.

Don't be surprised if your dealer seems to have a hard time getting the right manuals. I had to spend time on the phone with Volvo tech support to get the part numbers for my manuals, and even they had a hard time coming up with them.
