Knew I'd get a few lookers . . .

Picked up my new 210 this weekend (love it and scared of it) and rather than boar you all with my story (I'll do that later) I though I would bring the SS crew a treat from beautiful NH.
I got caught snooping around the recieving & detail shops but stumbled upon what is apparently the SS for '09. No dramatic changes - at least until you look close (see sometimes a neurotic, compulsive obsessive behavior has a payout)
OK OK so what I noticed:

- The bikini windshield looks just like the years before . . . until you look closely and notice the little tempered stamp in the corner. YES - IT'S BLACK GLASS - not acrylic or lexan etc.
- Windshield had a beautiful polished stainless header(?). Not sure if it will be an all equipped treat or an option but it looked awesome. Really brought the cleats, fittings and arch together.
- Gone are the little flap straps that buckle the walk through down. Now there is a cool little magnetic stainless ball in a mount that swivels to hold the walkthrough back. Hard to describe but tres cool. I am going to see if I can order one for mine once it shows up on the parts list.
- They are doing a black gell on the bottoms now for the SS. The Black one I saw had a black bottom and I overheard that they all will be but this is overheard second-hand type of thing. I was snooping 8).
- NEW BIMINI FOR THE ARCH. Its built into rather than leaning in front of. Looked very slick but I couldn't say how easy it was to work - couldn't get close enough to play with it. It looks very simple and effective in its design.
- New finish around the gauge cluster. Hard to describe but think of the aluminum finish with the little swirls in it but black. Its not aluminum (at least I dont think so) but it also looks very cool.
- I think the depth sounders are now coming with both air and water temp built in (mine has it) and the guys were playing with the one in the SS. Not a huge thing but still kind of cool.
- I think the alloy wheels changed again also. The ones I saw are little more flat, maybe a little more agressive appearing and certainly look a lot easier to clean.

Sorry gang, I couldn't get any detail pics (and we all love our pics) and this blabber is useless without pics but I did get a quick snap while it was being moved out back into another warehouse. You can get an idea on the bimini and bottom gel at least.

Wow, great info...Im gonna be a hater and say I dont like the looks of the black bottom or the bimini top. If they kept the stainless tubes of the arch exposed on top of the bimini I think it would look better..but the way it sits now Im not too thrilled.

But my bimini has been in storage since I bought the boat so who am I to judge.

The trailer is coated in Gatorhyde... it's the spray on bedliner stuff.

I think the concept of the black lower hull is good... but i'm not sure about the execution there. I think people will love it or hate it.

The full mount for the bimini on the arch is a nice touch - but yeah - what's up with how it covers part of the arch?

Nothing sounds striking enough to feel like "oh wow, I missed out" for 2009 so far. I've also heard that changes for '09 are fairly minimal.

Gatorhyde was offered for 07 model on galvanized trailer only. However, for 08 model, it is offer on regular trailer as well. For only $150 or so extra I think it is a great investment. I have a feeling that color bottom will be an option….and we still be able to get white bottom as well…… we hope…

I actually like the bimini. Seems like it would be a lot more sturdy using the arch for support and it clears the poles out of sight and out of the way. Nothing I hate more than watching someone who doesn't have much for sea legs come onto my boat and grab those things for support when they get a little wobbly. I don't know what it is, there are plenty of other things to grab-seats, side of the boat, another person- but instead people reach for the shiny metal thinking it is sturdy. OK, I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it. Time to start another thread.
