This past weekend was our maiden ocean voyage. We put he boat in East Greenwich, RI and traveled around the many islands down to Newport Harbor. It is as deep as 130 feet in this area.

lol, ya that boat was registered in the Cayman Islands.

Yes the area is protected. We probably cruised 20 miles each way but you are constantly surrounded by islands and the main land. At most the waves were 3 feet but for the most part 1-2 feet. The yatchs and their wakes give you the most trouble.

I had to fly into Providence a couple of times on business, and remember flying over areas like that. It sure looks like a beautiful place to boat.

We love going to the Newport area. We're going to try to get the boat down there this year (trailer down to the bay area and explore from there).
