So I have a 2006 H180. Love the boat. Hate the steering wheel. Besides the ladder, its the cheapest looking/feeling thing on the boat. Prefer not to pay $200 for an upgrade at the dealer. Found many nice steering ~$60 wheel replacements on eBay but almost all of them are the key style mount. Very few splined 19 tooth variety out there.

Does anyone know of a good source of aftermarket steering wheels that fits the splined shaft? OR, does anyone know of a spline to keyway adaptor?

I have been looking at the wheels and hub kits from Grant Products. They offer a splined marine adapter for their wheels, as well as tapered shaft adapters. I believe that their hubs are a standard 5 bolt pattern, so wheels from most companies should fit the hub. I would drop them a line to verify that the hub is indeed 19 tooth.

I was going to mentionthat you probably had a tapered shaft, like my 2007, but I took a quick look at the Four Winns parts catalogs for both years, and was surprised to find that sure enough the 2006 had a splined steering shaft, and the 2007 has a tapered and keyed shaft!

This helps out greatly thanks man! FW may have changed to newer/better teleflex steering system in 07 effecting the hub connection.

Yes, Grant has a hub adapter OR you can order a new steering wheel and many of their models have the splined hub as an option. thanks again.

Why don't you just replace the wheel with one of the same brand as your currently have? My '02 Horizon had a splined up, but a Dino Wheel. I just picked up a new Dino wheel on ebay myself for like ~70(+shipping). It came with a keyed hub, but, I'll just swap out the wheel and leave the hub in place.

Besides, Dino wheels look great.

I ended up just ordering a Grant Marine steering wheel. They can be ordered with the spline hub without fooling with an adapter. I ordered from JEGS. It was like $100 shipped.

Very Nice!

I have this one sitting at home, and am thinking of puting it in....

I think it would look cool in the boat, but the admeral doesn't think it would go. We'll see how that pans out  I think if I made a mahogany dash insert to match the wheel, it would look pretty sharp!
