I own a 2004 Horizon 200 with a Clarion radio factory supplied and installed with the boat. The radio failed once 2 years ago after washing the boat, water got splashed on the radio while rinsing. This caused several of the buttons on the face of the radio to not function. My dealer replaced this radio under warrantee because he stated the radio should with stand water on the face as long as the "CD" door is closed. This past week the boat was docked overnight during a rain storm with the "CD" door closed and now the radio seams to function properly but none of the speakers work (No output). Checked all the connections and all are good. Has anyone else had bad luck with Clarion radios and water problems.
Thanks

Actually, I just spent an hour out in the driving rain (don't ask), and my radio seemed to work fine the whole time. The face definately got wet! I'll check again in the AMto verify all inputs/outputs function properly. A thought... if you have the amp installed, check that first.

My clarion radio appears to be fine, but I was surprised to find it was wet after washing down the interior. The vinyl "pods" on the port and starboard side are not sealed to the fiberglass liner, which allows water to enter the glovebox and the guage cluster. There's no drain in cavity behnd the guage cluster, so I had to pull the guages and soak up the water. It appears that water could also enter the body of the stereo head unit by leaking through the joint between the pod and the fiberglass.

I was pretty carefull washing it down and am not very impressed with how watertight the interior is. Any amount of rainfall while uncovered could have the same results.
