I have a 2008 H200. On start-up there is an ear piercing alarm that sound for several seconds. Is there any way to disarm the alarm at start-up. I do not want to completely disarm the alarm, as it is the same alarm for low oil and high temp warnings.

Its probably your ECM alarm. Its a little red round plastic thing under the helm. To muffle it some you could put some tape over it I suppose. I think its a good idea to have it loud though because it serves as a clearn warning that I'm preparing to start the engine especially to anyone in the water.

I have the same alarm upon startup. I believe it is the low oil pressure alarm that goes off until the pressure builds. I also have a series of beeps when I first turn the ignition switch that I am not sure what they are telling me but, I wait until they are complete before cranking over the engine. I believe I read somwhere on the forums here that you could install a resistor in the line to eliminate the beep but, I wonder how that might affect the alarm if you were to have a catastrophic failure. I have had this alarm go off continuously when I first launched my boat this year and I am glad I did. I think you are just best to live with the alarm, it may save your butt later.

I just put tape over mine this weekend. The alarm is still loud, but I no longer hear echoes from across the lake. - I just used a small strip of duct tape and put it over the flat side of the red buzzer, the side with the hole.

I wouldnt muffle it, you need to hear that alarm at speed if either the oil pump fails or you overheat. Seconds count in those cases. Yeah its annoying but it might save your engine one day.

I have the same sounds on my 08'220 SS that I belive is the Low Oil Pressure Alarm and the series of beeps are the ECM conducting a prestart diagnostic check of the systems. It is best to wait till they stop which will also allow time for the EFI to pressurize. Of course only after you've ran the bilge blower for a few minutes!
