-I'd take the whole thing off and see if you can bring it to an upholstery shop (not a boat dealer) and get an estimate, most of the cost will be in labor because the plywood is not much and if the stitching has to be redone, that requires someone who has the right equipment. If the dealer is not getting a new one from FW, then they are just subbing it out to a shop and tacking their profit on top of the cost of the job. I looked at the pictures and yours is more complex because of the built in headrests but a good upholstery shop can work wonders. Mine was replaced once before because the vinyl was not original (but matched pretty well) and the plywood was obviously replaced (and not cut out all that straight, either). I used pressure treated plywood to get more life out of it.

What I'd do in your situation to save on the cost a bit is to remove the sunpad, then remove the upholstery if the stictching needs to be repaired and have the shop do that part. Then get your plywood and have a lumber yard cut it to size, and install the vinyl and padding yourself. I used a staple gun with stainless staples. The only tricky part is drilling the holes in the plywood to get the hinges in exactly the right spot. The best way to do this is with a helper, you mount the hinges to the boat, set the ply in place (before replacing the vinyl) and mark where the hinges have to go. Then remove the hinges again and put them in the places you marked, and drill the holes in the ply for the mounting holes. The whole thing was a weekend project, a little difficult because I had to do all the lifting and moving of it myself (no helper) but it turned out well.

Bought my 1998 H200 DP last year. My sundeck wood was also rotten so I replaced it myself.

If the vinyl is in decent shape, just replace the wood yourself. Cost me about $40 - $45 to do the job and is actually better than the original (since I made extra drain holes and sealed the sponge in plastic)

If you have a bench seat in the back, suggest you check that also. If the sundeck wood is rotten, the rear seat is sure to be.

As far as stitching the seats go, Take the covers off and go to your local shoe repair store. Cost me average of $25 per seat to have it restitched and they did an awesome job. Get a decent stapler, and you are back in business

If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would do it. PM me your contact details if you want to chat on some tips I have for you.

Cheers

Dave

That came out really great, the material that FW used was good enough to be re-used, and just the stitching had to be replaced. Since re-doing the interior in my old 88 I keep it covered all the time and the seats still look new. Boy did it look bad when I first got it!
