Does anyone have experience with Doug?

My dealer owes me some canvas work and he's sending it out to Doug. I talked with Doug late last week and he seems knowledgeable and willing to let me have some input. His track record says he's been in the business and has done a lot of boats and other uphosltery work since 1976.

Thanks!

Yeah, it's a "story". Weird one and I can't figure out who's got it right. Boat goes into Doug's on the 28th and he'll be done 6/3. Remember delivery to me was supposed to be 4/28...

So, I visited Doug in Tacoma. Good guy, seems like he'll do an excellent job as he is truly interested in my input on the canvas layout. Apparently he does a lot of high end boats as well as Bayliners, etc. So he knows what quality of goods match the boat brand. He will be done next Wednesday...so we'll see the final result.

I am just curious…. What are you asking them to do? Would you mind to share?

Oh yeah, great question....
Custom camper canvas. My boat has a tower so the stock Four Winns camper canvas won't fit. I'll post pics when is done.

Ok, I got all my work done by Doug. Wow, he truly put the effort into the project and did a very nice design. With all the stitching, custom work,e tc. I am very pleased and would recommmend him in a heartbeat. Doug listens very well and adds his expertise and experience in where needed. Now, what did I have done?

Basically, full canvas for the cockpit. Since I have the factory tower on my boat the factory canvas doesn't fit. Here is what I have:

- Forward (of the arch/tower) bimini
- Rear (of the arch/towmer) bimini
- Windshield connector with zip up door for access to the bow
- Two side curtains on each side
- Sloping (the only design that would work) rear canvas with another zip up door that matches the walk through on my transom.
- And, of course, boots for the bimini tops when they are rolled up on the stainless poles/hardware.

He also modified the stock cockpit cover to allow for the new hardware to fit through the covers.

I forgot to take pictueres last time I was at the boat...so I will try to do so this weekend and post the canvas work in this thread.

Cheers,
