Looking at an H210ss and wondering how it will run with the volvo 5.0 270hp? Does anyone know the top speed? How does it compare to the 300hp and 320hp boats? The price isn't low enough for me yet, I'm holding out until the last part of the year to see how low they will go. I'm just wondering If I'll be dissapointed in the power? It will be for pulling tubes from time to time, maybe a skier once and a great while, but mostly cruising the shoreline, hanging out, and some fast speed runs to scare the wife 8)

What year is the boat? If it is a 2005 210...then it is the current 220. Before we bought our boat, we were looking for a 220. From taking some rides, I wanted the 5.7 with the SX drive (single prop). If it had the 5.0, I wanted the DP drive. That boat will do close to 50 mph lightly loaded...but the hole shot was not what I wanted as we sometimes have another family on board.

I do have similar comparison during my testing days about two years ago. One of the boats I test drove was an Ebbtide 21' bowrider, with the Merc Alpha 1 and 5.0 (250 hp, i believe). This should be about the same weight as the FW H210. Even with just the tech and myself, this boat was a pooch. Top end was around 50 mph. Hole shot, not too good. I would not recommmend for watersports/recreation. Cruising would be fine though. This is the best I have to compare.

Search around the other posts, I have a comparison of 210SS's Merc 350 mag vs. the 6.2L both w/Bravo 1 drives (300 vs 320 hp).

I hope that helps.

I have a 07 H200SS with the 5.0L Volvo 270HP and FW site indicate top speed at 54MPH. My speedo reads 60 at WOT, but never checked it with GPS. Hole shot is pretty good IMO. SHe jumps up on plane pretty quick and works good for tubing. Never tried a skier. nd if that 210 is out of your price range shoot me a PM I am considering selling and going up to a bigger Baja style boat.

I can hit 58 mph at WOT and it pulls 2 skiers without even knowing they are back there. Go big my friend and never look back. Gas mileage is probably very similar between the 5.0L and 5.7L too...In other words, they both GUZZLE gas!!! Send pics!!!

I agree with those that say go for the 5.7L. The 5.0L is adequate, but will work harder than needed to achieve the same results as the 5.7L concerning watersports. The H210 is a great boat, good choice. Stick with that one.
