I lost hydraulics yesterday coming back across the lake, no trim. Well that was no biggie we just went slow and pulled the boat out. Made sure I wasn't dragging the out drive on the way out. But here is the thing. On the new SX outdrives the fluid is on the outside of the boat! There is no way to check the level or replace any fluid if your in the water. Now I am pretty new to boating but is this a good thing? I would have thought all of that would be inside the engine compartment.

Well just for those new to boating like me. You might want to check the fluid periodically if your trailer your boat with the NEW SX outdrives. Because if you loose it you can't fix it with the boat in the water. Lucky for me my boat launch was at the right angle not to drag my outdrive when taking the boat out.

NOW, to see how fast my dealer can fix it. This weekend is supposed to be the best of the year up here in Vermont.

YEP, that is it. I just talked to the dealer, they say it has been a problem in the past with that design. sometimes it will take 2, 3 or even 4 try's to get it corrected. I guess there are a few "O" rings and the tensioning of the bolts.

Thanks for the info though.
