You'll want that platform as close to the water as possible.

Notice how no new boat has the platform that elevated off the water anymore. They all are now near water level.

Hope I'm not too late but I installed a platfrom on my 230 (2000) 2 weeks ago. Here are some pics. I'm a "husky" fellow and I feel very comfortable being on it.

Thanks. Couldn't have done it with out my 10 yeald old boy. He got all into those tight spaces inside the engine compartment. We also used a six extension socket contraption that reached a good 3' or so. :lol:
