Hey guys... when were the significant changes done on the H200 in the last decade and what were they (if any)? I believe 05' they changed this up... but much? I believe instrument panel changes ect to make it a little more modern took place in 2002ish?? A neg is they went from 9 to 8 passenger I believe in 05' as well... I've got a few spotted and am curious. thank you!!! Looking to keep a Four Winns in my garage now that the H220 is sold...

Also curious if you have any thoughts regarding pricing on these as well... Specifically I have an 04, 05 & 07 H200 located... all have around 100 - 200 hours and in excellent condition... all with the 5.0 mpi as well & single axle trailers. Are they typically pulling more than NADA?

Steve,

I am by no means an expert on your questions (as I am a relatively new FW owner), but I figured to chime in since these message boards are a bit quiet now that winter is approaching.

Having owned a couple of boats and towed on both single and tandem axle trailers, I would try to find one of those H200s with tandem axles. On a 200, I think that the standard trailer is single axle, but I've seen a few with two...so it must be an option. I think that two axles are more stable, better for towing and better looking to boot.

Also, I think that the 200 is the highest model Horizon that doesn't store the anchor under a door in the bow...a feature that I really like in our 210.

Hopefully, others will give info on changes to the 200 over the years that I honestly don't know about. Since 2004, I've been in a Bayliner and a Sea Ray, so I am new (and happily so) to the FW brand.

I don't think there are many people than can answer all your questions. Most people have not owned or had that much exposure to the models you are inquiring about except maybe a salesman.

My recommendation is to go to the Four Winns website and do tour own research using the "past products" feature. They have brochures, specs, manuals, parts lists there for you to review until your hearts content.

Also go to autotrader and review any that may be on there for some realworls insight. The internet is your best friend in this quest.

With regards to the trailer.... A single axle is easier to maneuver. Just make sure and have a tow vehicle that can take the tongue weight and always carry a spare plus the necessities to change the tire roadside.

Thanks guys! MH... yep, already been to the FW's archives. I LOVE their site... I don't thing there's a maker out there that's got more owners info on it. 8)

I feel like I know these boats fairly well already... I'm just looking for any other tidbits that I could be missing... such at the anchor well mentioned. :D I didn't know that! Silly little things that get missed but IS useful...

Not that you'd be looking at one as ancient as mine, but it has a few features that I really like:

a full foot longer than the newer ones at 20'9"
Higher hull sides
Higher seating position
steeper deadrise making is a true deep V at 21*
anchor locker
no molded in fiberglass in the rear seat area that makes it impossible to work on the engine, I pull out the rear seat and I can get at everything...

mine is also on a single axle trailer, I would not have a problem with that as long as it has a 5200 lb axle, 6 lug hubs and 12" brakes with 15" rims....

I'm by no means an expert, especially since I just bought my first Four Winns two months ago, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I did some research and in general I thought the big year was 2004, when the Horizon line transferred to the same basic design as they have now. Integrated ESPs, different seating configurations etc. In 2006 the numbers changed so depending on the year the size might not correlate with the number - which I think is why the capacity changed as you stated.

Maybe it was just the larger Horizons but in my casual looking I see the pre 2003 as one generation and 2004 and newer as the next. I know looking at the Four Winns website there is little substantial different beween my 2005 and a 2010. Plenty of cosmetic stuff and a few options though.

Thanks RB...yep, I love the site... looked through the specs of the years several times. What I find odd is that they added almost 1.5 feet to the 2005 H200, yet dropped it down to 8 passenger from 9.
I think I need to get a new tow vehicle, move an hour two away so I'm closer to bigger water and pick up a H230 or h240... hmmm :mrgreen:

Hi Shawk, the change over year was 2006, that's when FW started rounding up instead of down. We have a 2005 FW Horizon 190 which measures 19'8 and in 2006 became the H200. It's a great boat, fits in the double car garage on a angle.

Thanks LJ... I've got a low hour 04' H200 spotted for a good price but I just don't know if I'm ready to pull the trigger. It's nicely setup with the 5.0 MPI, and a few other things I was looking for... but. :) I've also looked a the Sea Ray 200 Selects, Chaparral 210SSI's and Crownlines 21CL & 202's... hmm... to many choices... I'm wondering if the others might be a little better with the slower speed water sport boats due the the Four Winns hull design in the back (if I said that right??? referring to the step desing under the engine well). hmmm.... :|
