Hi to everyone

We have a long established 4Winns dealer moving there Chicago location out close to us. We are looking at an 07 200 with a carbed VP 5.0.We owned an 89 245 Vista but lost our dealer back in the early 90's. Sold our deck boat last summer and would appreciate any info you may provide on our new intrest. I like the simplicity of the carb but what do any of you think? No skiers or tubers, just me and the wife cruising the local river and lakes. Thanks.

Personally, I will never own another carbed boat again if I can help it. You are correct in that there is some simplicity to it. But at the same time, I enjoy the simplicity of turning the key and the engine starting right up. No throttle pumping routine to learn, working hands frantically at idle to keep it running when cold, etc.

I have the same carbed engine in my 06. I have not had any problems with it or starting it yet (knock on wood). I think if money isn’t the limiting factor then go for an injected one. It may not be as simply but it is well proven technology. I only got mine because it was last year’s model and the dealer seemed to want to deal with it so I figured the savings was better for me.

But either way, it’s still a great boat.

Is that carbed 200 the yellow one? If so I saw it over at the Elmwood Park location. I was very tempted to buy it, but in doing research ran across more than a few carborated 5.0L horror stories. Also a friend has a carbed 5.0L 190 that he has had quite a bit of trouble with over the years. I ended up ordering the boat I have now. I stuck with the yellow too!
