Under the engine cover on my 2011 h180, volvo penta 4.3, there is a small square placard about 4"x4" with the inscription "helm power" and a small button directly in the middle with the number 40 on it. Its on starboard side of boat on the back end of boat, above battery. assume it is a fuse of some sort but really have no idea what it is, dont see anything on it in the manual. Any ideas?

That is the circuit breaker for the help power. If you ever find that your "dash" is totally dead, check the breaker. You will be able to pop that button back in and (hopefully) be back in business.

Thats a 40 amp circuit breaker for the console area of your boat. If that pops, its likely that a component thats on that BUS has or is drawing more than 40 amps. In the case it keeps popping, I have a procedure that you can use to figure it all out. Its the same procedure we use on the airplanes I fly. Let me know if your interested.
